Premium Sweet Potato (madhurakizhangu) in a 500 g pack. Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet and filling, and Kerala homes often simply boil or steam them for breakfast or a four o'clock snack with black tea.

They can also be mashed into a puzhukku with coconut and green chilli, roasted with a little salt and pepper, added to stews, or made into cutlets.

Store sweet potatoes in a cool, dry, airy place, not in the fridge, and use them within a week or so. Scrub well before cooking with the skin on.
