Chopped Chena / Elephant Yam / ചേന -250gm

Chopped Chena (elephant foot yam) in a 250 g pack, peeled and cut in your choice of large cube or small cube. Chena can make your hands itch while peeling, and this pack spares you that job.

Use large cubes for erissery, kootu curry, aviyal and chena curry, and small cubes for chena mezhukkupuratti or a crisp chena fry with chilli and turmeric. Boil it with a little tamarind or kudampuli water first if you are worried about an itchy throat.

Refrigerate in a closed container and cook within a day.
