Fresh Beetroot in a 500 g pack, ozone washed. Beetroot adds a natural sweetness and deep colour to the Kerala table: grate or chop it for beetroot thoran, make the pink beetroot pachadi served at Sadya, add it to cutlets and vegetable stew, or slice it raw into a salad.

It is also popular blended into juice with carrot and a squeeze of lemon.

Store beetroot in the fridge in a cover or box and use within about a week. If the leaves are attached, cut them off before storing.
